Another One Bites the Dust

In May of this year, Straight & Nappy performed on the South Side at The Majestic Midway Theatre. I am sad to announce that they have shut their doors. They had a wonderful little space down there and it is always sad when a theatre closes.

Below is a copy of the email I received from the Artistic Director and Owner.

With regret, we announce the closing of the Majestic Midway Theater. Thank
you for your support of our first home.

Due to increased rental costs and insurance premiums, we cannot continue to operate at 5722 W 63rd Street.

In the works…theatre company will be spending the next year
looking for a new home, developing more programming and fundraising.

Watch for announcements of upcoming readings, workshops, and
fundraisers.

We cannot thank you enough for your support and
interest in our first year and promise there is much more to
come.
