The God Racket

Earlier this week I ranted about those that are using the Schiavo case for political and moral purposes. On the same day, I went off about the dangers of religious fervor. And now Frank Rich's column's talks about both plus other issues regarding religion in our country.

I love the opening paragraph that talks about the original marketing plan for "The Ten Commandments." Cecil B. DeMille, who was Jewish and not Christian although he is probably most influential in creating the American Christian ideal, set up Ten Commandments slabs all over America to promote his movie. It is one of these promotional pieces that is causing a fuss down in Texas.
