Zoo Wants Chimpanzee to Stop Smoking. I have smoked for about 12 years now. Before I started, I never thought I would ever smoke 12 cigarettes let alone the thousands I have had to smoke in the last 12 years. I have quit several times. Once I quit for like 9 months but I easily picked up the sticks again.
I know that it is a filthy dirty habit but I find great enjoyment in it. Nicotine is such a great drug. It can lift you up when you are tired and lull you down when you are worked up. The only other thing that can do that is maybe a hot shower but not many places offer their employess shower breaks, with the exception of the porn industry (I'm guessing).
Speaking of work, I smoke a lot when I am rehearsing or writing. It has become such an extension of my work life that it is dificult for me to imagine doing these things without cigarettes.
There is that old joke about 1000 monkeys with typewriters sitting in room writing. It was referenced in a great Simpsons bit. In one episode, Montgomery Burns has his own room with 1000 monkeys, one of which is chastised for mistyping a word in the opening sentence of "A Tale of Two Cities" In the bit, I believe the monkeys are smoking.
Oh well, smoke up Charlie.

Saw that on the news. What is going on over in South Africa? Do they need a sign, please do not feed the chimp's nicotine habit.
